Traverse Journeys is seeking local organizers for our International Travel Chapters in selected cities to grow our network of international travelers. Our Community Organizers will build, support, and create a welcoming and dynamic community of travelers in the area.
You will be responsible for bringing travelers together both through planning and hosting local travel themed events (in person and virtually). You will also be responsible for managing community member group communications. As well, persons driven to form beneficial partnerships with like-minded individuals, brands, businesses and organizations are desired.
We are looking for a thoughtful, organized and enthusiastic community leader to manage local travel chapters as the Traverse Journeys Community Organizer. Our Community Organizers are strong leaders who are self-motivated, personable, community driven, creative, and passionate about living and sharing a life of purposeful travel.

Host a Local Travel Event with Event Follow Up
Plan and host at least one in person travel themed event per quarter for the Traverse Journeys community (four annually).
Local park meet-up, dinner at a local restaurant, happy hours, bowling night, and other fun ways to bring the group together.
Communicate with Traverse Journeys Community Manager, Kara Folkerts, if needing other creative ideas for themes and events.
Share event photos and experiences with other Traverse Journeys chapter organizers.
Collect emails at events for folks interested in learning more about Traverse Journeys impactful travel initiatives and international trips.
Recruit members who may show greater interest in hosting events and helping in the local chapter or other partnership opportunities.
Community Engagement and Management
Stay connected with your travel community and keep engagement high. Make friends, reach out, manage group communications.
Keep everyone in the loop of upcoming events (in-person and virtual) and all other relevant news happening in your local chapter.
Post events/trips that have been previously agreed upon and cleared with Traverse Journeys.
Notify Traverse Journeys once any new events are posted.
Stay up to date with new members and the growth of your local chapter.
Traverse Journeys Awareness
Be informed about the Traverse Journeys brand, style of travel and general ethos.
Stay up to date with Traverse Journeys trip calendar and upcoming promotions.
Connect travelers interested in Traverse Journeys trips and help facilitate connection between local travelers who are joining trips.
The local Community Organizer will be in communication with Traverse Journeys Community Manager, Kara Folkerts.

Experience with community building, group management and events a plus, or an eager mindset to foster these skills.
Self motivated, organized, self-reliant, and task-oriented.
Love for people, outgoing, helpful and friendly.
Great communicator both verbally and written.
Creative thinking for event themes and ways to bring the travel community together.
Traveler, explorer or a desire for adventure and learning.
Familiarity with Meetup and Eventbrite a plus.
