What Makes Traverse Different?
Local relationships, deeper context.
Local guides, hosts, and community partners bring their knowledge and perspectives to the journey, helping us move beyond the surface of a place.
Small groups, shared experiences.
We keep our group sizes intentionally small to make space for personal connections, flexibility, and a more engaged way to experience a destination.
Travel with purpose.
We consider how our trips affect the places we visit and support a carefully selected Community Partner with a contribution from every departure.
Culture, nature, and discovery.
Our trips balance well-known places with smaller discoveries, active exploration, local food, cultural experiences, and time to enjoy the unexpected.
The moments that stay with you.
People.
Planet.
Purpose.
Traverse Journeys is a female-founded company offering mindfully crafted, bespoke itineraries centered around human connection, the beauty of diversity and the transformative power of travel. Our travelers are curious, adventurous and lifelong learners. Our partners on the ground are storytellers, change-makers and all-around dynamic humans. When combined, both traveler and community are transformed.
The way we travel matters.
Every Traverse Journeys departure includes a contribution to a carefully selected Community Partner, supporting local organizations creating meaningful impact in the destinations we visit.
Our approach extends beyond that contribution. We seek out local guides, independently owned businesses, women-led enterprises, community organizations, and conservation partners, with an eye toward how tourism can support the people and places that make each journey possible.

“Everything was amazing. I loved the variety. Each place had a different focus and I was never tired of what we were seeing and experiencing.
I loved the sense of community and happiness with the Maasai. They have what most would consider a hard life but they all seemed to enjoy life, especially when dancing.”– Kim
Tanzania Safari 2026“I am grateful to have spent eight amazing days hiking through the five climate zones of Kilimanjaro on the Lomosho route to Uhuru Peak. Each day was joyous. Our guides and support team were unbelievably kind, attentive and knowledgeable and the trip to the top was well planned.
Our guides briefed us daily. Our cook fed us delicious food and our tent master had our equipment and tent ready before our arrival each evening. The entire team was fun, supportive and accepting which created a fantastic atmosphere among our group in one of the most beautiful places on earth.”- Tina

Morocco Adventure 2026 -
“This was my first trip out of the country, with Machu Picchu having been at the top of the list ever since l started self-studying Ancient History in 2001. While every archaeological site, community, city, trail, cuisine, market, car ride, train ride, bus ride, Rainbow Summit, etc. was spectacular in and of themselves and each now holds its own special place in my heart and memory, the top quality above all else that made this trip is Abel and Kate.”
- Tecou
Machu Picchu, 2026“Abel really went above and beyond showing us around the city. We learned a lot about the Quechua history and all the “real” details under the stereotypes.”
– Sam
Machu Picchu 2026“The Vilcabamba route was incredibly beautiful, filled with a lot of different ecosystems and plant life, which I wasn’t expecting and enjoyed a lot. It was the right amount of challenge for me and I felt a lot of happiness along the trail. Was blown away by the food and thoughtfulness of the cook and porters. Such lovely humans. Saw one other couple on the trail the entire time which was so nice.”
