One of the tenants of a Traverse Journeys trip is local partnerships. We make every effort to keep our spending in the community because we see it as a cornerstone of making travel sustainable. Like many wonderful connections in life, they frequently seem to happen serendipitously. Meeting our yoga instructor, Gigi Mao, was just that. We were in search of a specific instructor for our yoga and surf retreat in Nicaragua who could lead our intimate group in a journey of mindfulness, while also being fun! We knew right away: this was the one.
