This itinerary is available as a self-guided journey with dates available year-round. You’ll start with Lisbon’s street art and historic neighborhoods, a visit to Sintra, and spend then time wandering Porto’s cobblestone streets and riverside districts. You’ll then slow down in the Douro Valley, where terraced vineyards and the winding river set a different pace. Further south, Tomar, Alcobaça, Nazaré, and Óbidos add layers of history and coastal culture to the journey.

The itinerary can be shortened or extended, with more or less time in each destination, accommodation upgrades, and additional experiences to make the trip your own. For food lovers, we particularly recommend considering a full-day food tour in Lisbon or Porto—an excellent way to explore the culinary traditions and neighborhoods that make each city distinctive.
