Cyprus is one of those places that you never knew you needed to visit.

This nine-day adventure takes you into one of Europe’s most overlooked islands, filled with mountain villages, ancient landscapes, winding trails, and the traditions that make Cyprus so distinct. Hike through the Troodos Mountains along routes shaped by centuries of history and mythology, wander the historic village of Lefkara, and explore the sparkling Mediterranean coastline around Paphos. Along the way, you'll meet local artisans and village characters, taste everything from fresh-caught seafood and farm-to-table specialties to Cyprus's famous halloumi, and sample wines from the island's vineyards. With a little luck, an evening meal might even turn into an impromptu night of traditional music and dancing.

Join us in April 2027 for a special Adventure Retreat with Allison Kirsch, featuring daily workshops incorporating somatic experiencing, mindfulness, breathwork, and light movement.

Book our 9-day Cyprus group trip starting at $5995 per person. Or choose Cyprus Custom Dates year-round for a private experience of this remarkable island. See all inclusions, itinerary details, and complete pricing in the drop-downs below.

why this trip?

Cyprus may be one of Europe's most underrated destinations.

Think Mediterranean beauty, extraordinary food, ancient mythology, and lively village life - but with far fewer crowds than many of its better-known neighbors. Rather than staying on the coast and checking off the major sights, this journey takes you into the real Cyprus: through mountain villages and ancient trails, along mythological routes, and into landscapes shaped by centuries of history, migration, and the natural environment. You'll have opportunities to slow down with the people who call these places home, learn the stories behind local traditions, and experience the island through food, movement, conversation, and time outdoors.

Our April 2027 departure adds another dimension, with retreat leader Allison Kirsch weaving her expertise into the adventure. A psychotherapist trained in Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness, and Adventure Therapy, Allison brings a holistic approach that recognizes the connection between body, mind, environment, and overall wellbeing. An avid hiker and backpacker herself, she understands the power of being outdoors and moving through challenging landscapes. Throughout the journey, she'll incorporate somatic practices, mindfulness, breathwork, and reflection, creating opportunities to notice how your body responds to stress, reconnect with yourself, and deepen your connection with others.

Any time you go, Cyprus is ancient, layered, and alive. Whether you're drawn to its landscapes, mythology, food, culture, hiking, or simply the chance to experience somewhere that still feels a little under the radar, Cyprus invites you to explore deeply while leaving plenty of room to pause, breathe, and take it all in.

Travel with purpose. Every Traverse Journeys departure includes a contribution to a carefully selected Community Partner, supporting local organizations creating meaningful impact in the destinations we visit. For this trip, your booking supports Lighthouse Relief, which fills gaps in humanitarian protection for people seeking refuge, providing frontline mental health and psychosocial support and integration programs that create safe spaces to move, play, grow, connect, and heal from the stress and trauma of displacement.
