Through all of my Spanish language and history studies, I had long been fascinated by the Moorish influence on the Iberian peninsula, from the iconic horseshoe-shaped arches of ancient fortresses in southern Spain to Arab derived words like azucar and alfombra. Through my time here I’ve learned that travel in Morocco as a solo female can indeed be safe and there are specific ways you can be smart about it.
